Blinds & awnings for Bantry Bay
A narrow shelf of apartment blocks built straight into the rock between Sea Point and Fresnaye, with almost every unit holding an uninterrupted line to the sunset and the swell breaking below.
Built closer to the water than almost anywhere else
Bantry Bay's apartment blocks sit stacked up a cliff face with the Atlantic essentially at the foundations, which means the salt spray and wind exposure most Mouille Point buildings get on a windy day is closer to a daily reality here. Anything mounted outside — a zip screen, a roller shutter, an awning bracket — gets the top end of our marine-grade spec, not the standard coastal one.
Floor-to-ceiling glass, built for the view it was bought for
Units here are generally bought and renovated specifically for the uninterrupted Atlantic sunset, so the glazing tends to run floor-to-ceiling on the sea-facing wall with very little else to soften the glare. Sunscreen roller blinds and day/night blinds do the daily work of keeping that view liveable through the afternoon without blocking it outright; exterior shading comes in for units that want the option of full glare control on the harshest days.
Sectional title on a genuinely constrained site
Like the rest of this stretch of coast, Bantry Bay's blocks are sectional title, so exterior fittings need body corporate sign-off. The cliffside sites also mean less room to manoeuvre than a flat promenade block — access, parking and the practicalities of getting equipment up to a high unit are things we plan around before the install date, not on the day.
- Top-tier marine-grade hardware on anything mounted outside
- Sunscreen and day/night blinds specified for floor-to-ceiling sea-facing glass
- Body corporate approval and site access planned before install day
- Wind-sensor motorisation standard on any exposed exterior product
